Licensing, plainly

What a licence covers, what it costs and how it reaches your classrooms.

What is the difference between an individual and an organization licence?

An individual licence is for one person or one household, and it renews every three months. An organization licence is for a school, library, district, workplace or community group, it runs for a year, and it covers use across your classrooms, screenings and staff. If you are showing a film to a room of people rather than watching it yourself, the organization licence is the one you want.

What is an activation code, and how does it work?

Every licence issues one code, in the form BD followed by three groups of characters. The code arrives by email, you enter it once in the Digital Learning Hub, and from that moment the works your licence covers are open to you there. Keep the code somewhere safe, or sign in and it will be kept for you.

Can one code cover a whole school or district?

An organization licence covers the organization that bought it. For a district, several schools or an unusually large community, write through the licensing form and a fit will be arranged rather than guessed at. Nobody should pay for more than they need, or less than is fair to the work.

What does the annual subscription include?

The subscription opens the whole Our Story, Our Voice library for a year: both documentaries, the book and all five animated shorts, with new work added as it arrives. It is the better value once you want more than two titles.

What currency are prices in, and are taxes included?

All prices are in Canadian dollars unless another currency is clearly noted. What you see at checkout is what you pay, and any taxes or fees are shown before you confirm. The full statement lives on the disclosures page.

What happens when a licence ends?

Access closes at the end of the term unless the licence was bought with renewal. Nothing is deleted from your account, so renewing brings everything straight back. A reminder is sent before the date so no class is left waiting on a film that stopped playing overnight.
